Leadership
The people behind MIHLGSO

Per Article 19, the Board is composed of eight members and supervises the whole organization, oversees finances, and approves policy.

How leadership fits together
MIHLGSO is governed by its members and steered by three connected bodies. Each has a distinct mandate set out in the constitution, and together they keep the organization accountable to the people it serves.

Three departments — Information, Financial, and Social Interaction — turn decisions into action and report back up through the Executive Committee.
The Annual General Meeting
Above all three sits the membership. At the Annual General Meeting, members elect leaders, review the year's work, and approve the direction of the organization under Article 23 of the constitution.
How we lead
The values that guide our leaders
These principles shape how every leader and volunteer carries out their responsibilities at MIHLGSO.
Accountable to members
Leaders serve at the will of the membership and report openly on decisions, finances, and progress.
Transparent stewardship
Funds and resources are managed carefully, recorded clearly, and audited so members can trust how contributions are used.
Service, not status
Leadership is a duty of service to the community and to fellow members, not a position of privilege.
Elected and renewed
Leaders are elected for fixed terms, keeping the organization fresh, representative, and open to new voices.
